Shown here are photos of my High Sierra HS-1800/Pro mobile antenna mounted on the 2005 Toyota Prius, and the radio installation inside the car. Although I admit to being a tad bit biased, it's certainly one of the neatest, clean installations I've seen! The hams at Beltronics did a heck of a job.

I'm half of the way there. Like many cars, the Prius exhibits a high amount of RF interference when all the gadgets and gizmos are running. I see many, many grounding straps and ferrite split beads in my future.

One individual wrote about this topic on eHam, saying "There are differing parts to the EMI depending on if the batteries are charging, discharging, or the hybrid system is coasting, if the brakes are applied, etc. I was very disappointed to find this out after I bought the car, but with gas prices the way they are, it's still a good buy, and I decided to try to fix the noise as best I could... It's not hopeless, but its a bit of a job to [reduce the interference]."
