Photo du Jour: Phillip at the Player's Club
April 16, 2010: A great photo of Phillip, a staff member of Dining Services at Boston College who serves the lunch time gang at the Player's Club. Not only does he work the cash register, but Phillip put together some interesting menu selections last semester.
Photo du Jour: Asian-Pacific American Heritage Month
![]()
April 7, 2010: I snapped these photos back in April of a noon time rally in O'Neill Plaza on the Boston College campus. Apparently the hub-bub was about Asian-Pacific American Heritage Month.
Happy Birthday, Eliot!
Friends and family gathered at the home of Eliot Mayer in Belmont to celebrate his 55th birthday on July 4, 2010. And The Chameleons gave a special performance. Eliot's wife, Irena, arranged for a spiffy birthday cake in the shape of an electric guitar. My wife, Ariel, and our good friend Leo were also in attendance.
Here are some photos taken by me, and by Ariel while I was performing with the group.
Photo du Jour: Beware of Minirobots!
April 4, 2010: Here's one subject... umm, I mean "citizen" of Harvard Square who certainly has a novel perspective on life, politics and society. I guess that's a polite way of saying that he's got a few screws loose. Or he's not playing with a full deck. Whatever your favorite metaphor.
In the meantime, just watch out for any minirobots lurking about--or Thomas Reilly.
ARRL Field Day 2010 Photos On-line
Shown here are photos from my visits on June 26-27 to ARRL Field Day sites across Eastern Massachusetts. I toured eleven different sites. I also stopped by two locations that I thought were active, but turned out not to be. I traveled from Yarmouthport to North Andover, logging a total of 322 miles driven over the 27-hour event.
Shown here: Roland, N1JOY at the Bristol Co. RA/Fall River ARC field day operation with his antenna launcher-thingie
Photo du Jour: Chess in the Square
![]()
April 3, 2010: One of the great things about Harvard Square is watching the folks who passionately play chess in front of Au Bon Pain in Holyoke Center on Mass. Avenue. Even those who are not masters are worthy of an audience.
"Our House... Is A Very Very Very Fine (But Damaged) House"
Shown here: photos showing damage from a very bad storm (microburst? tornado?) that took a big chunk off the roof of our mid-rise condo building today at 125 Coolidge Avenue in Watertown.
Photo du Jour: Recent Boston Amateur Radio Club Meeting
March 18, 2010: One of Boston ARC's oldest and most dedicated members: Arthur Ashley, N1NHZ. Arthur was co-presenting on public service communications to those assembled at the club's new meeting digs at the Brookline Police Department.
