Photo du Jour: Boston College's New Veteran's Memorial
November 9, 2009: Boston College recently commissioned the creation of a Veteran's Memorial on the main campus. It's reminisent of the famous monument in Washington, D.C. except that the wall is very low in profile and contains the names of BC alumni from different wars.

November 5, 2009: Boston College commemorated the 20th anniversary of the Fall of the Berlin Wall by constructing a replica of a portion of the wall. Students were invited to scribble their own graffiti onto the structure to add to its authenticity. And scribble they did! There was hardly an unmarked spot on the entire surface.

October 17, 2009: I occasionally walk for exercise in the former Watertown Arsenal complex (now known as the Arsenal on the Charles). It's sometimes easy to forgot how stunningly beautiful the place is!
Purdue Trip Photos Now On-line
I've posted photos from our trip to Purdue University on October 9-12, 2009 on-line. Our trip was two-fold: the Biochemistry Department held its 75th anniversary with various festivities, including a noontime outdoor BBQ. Also, Ariel went to seek a business collaboration between the university and her startup company. We both graduated from Purdue in 1979.
