Prospecting For a Publisher (or an Agent)
I finished the manuscript for the Winship Affair sequel entitled, “The Allston Variant” and am receiving feedback from readers. I’m now actively seeking a publisher for the book. For the very first time, I’m also shopping around for an agent to help me attract the attention of the top-tier publishers. But I’m not holding my breath.

BC Bookstore Purchase
I’m happy to report the Boston College bookstore has purchased seventy copies of my short story anthology “Machine Feelings” to present to participants in the Boston College Read Aloud Program at their annual celebratory luncheon this week. I’ll be reading and making some brief remarks, as well as signing book copies.

Yesterday, I submitted the final version of the manuscript to my publisher, Big Table Publishing. The new artwork has been chosen and is in the hands of the illustrator, and the blurbs are complete. I am confident that after nearly three years, publication of Helltown Chronicles is close at hand!
An Inescapable Truth
I’m come to the inescapable conclusion that Caliburn Press has no intention of honoring the agreement I signed with Damnation Books in August, 2014. In fact, they’ve been in breach of contract for some time. On advice of my attorney, I notified Caliburn this week that I am exercising my right to cancel the agreement. The good news is: another publisher had indicated a willingness to pick up the book! More info to come.
In case anyone is tempted to submit their work to this enterprise, which does business under the following imprints: Eternal Press; Caliburn Young Adult; Damnation Books; Melliferia Press; Siento Sordida Publishing; Spero Publishing; Vollmar Games; you’d be well advised to steer clear of this outfit. Duotrope: An Invaluable Resource
Today marks my 1000th Duotrope story entry. I logged my first transaction on Dec. 11, 2011. Over the past five years, I’ve logged submissions to 367 different markets. Thus far I have had 127 out of a total of 141 accepted for publication–both in print and online. Two submissions were full-length novels, one was a novella, and another was a story anthology; the remainder were short stories and flash fiction. As a writer, I’ve found Duotrope to be an invaluable resource.

It’s almost ready! The manuscript has been reviewed, and everything appears to be in order. I’m holding the bound, galley proof copy of “Machine Feelings,” a science fiction/fantasy anthology from Big Table Publishing containing my best stories spanning over fifteen years of writing.

“A Tough Nut To Crack”
Over the holidays, I’ve been working on a story anthology collection for publication. I’m dubbing it, “A Tough Nut To Crack and Other Short Stories.” It will consist of approximately fifty flash- and short stories that span my entire 15-year+ writing career.
