By On May 16, a portion of my short story “Squeeze Play” was read and critiqued by members of the Mystery Writers of America New England Chapter at their annual themed Author Idol meeting via Zoom.
The format for Author Idol is: the first few pages of anonymous submissions are read by a professional voice. Three judges listen for style and plot; when they have heard enough, they signify by raising their hand or ringing a bell. Then they give their feedback.
